Also asked, are Middle East servers coming to fortnite?

Fortnite players in the region are now able to select a Bahrain-based server to play from, the first in the region. Although no formal announcement has yet been made, Fortnite players immediately saw the new dedicated Middle East server and took to Twitter to react.

Additionally, are there fortnite servers in India? However, that seems to be changing as Epic Games and Fortnite have recently launched servers in India. It's good news for Indian gamers who have been waiting to play the game with good ping and comes at a crucial time in the Indian gaming space.

Subsequently, one may also ask, where are all fortnite servers located?

The short answer is that Fortnite servers are everywhere. Sort of. The long answer is that Fortnite servers are located in a deliberately distributed set of servers and locations across Amazon's global public cloud infrastructure, known as Amazon Web Services, or AWS for short.

Has fortnite been canceled?

No, no and no. Epic Games have not cancelled Fortnite, the game hasn't died, and the game hasn't been hacked. We'll likely see the black hole screen until Epic Games have the Season 11 files ready to go.

Heya Folks,

Today we’re excited to launch the Fortnite Middle East server region!

TL;DR - We expect a range of ping improvements from 20-50% for many players across the southern Middle East (i.e. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain), as well as India.

What to expect today?

Our initial focus is on the Arabian Peninsula, where players in the region experience the highest ping. We expect most players in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia to see immediate improvements, as well as groups of players in other surrounding countries (depending on the city and ISP of choice). We’re going to continue improving performance as we roll out networking paths to additional providers.

In order to launch the new Middle East region, we’ve had to take the current SEA subregion servers offline. This is because removing the players who have better performance to the Middle East region does not leave sufficient population to support healthy matchmaking. For the majority of players who played on the SEA servers from the Middle East and India, you should expect to see a reduction in ping. There will be some players across other parts of Southeast Asia that experience an increase in ping. Please let us know how this changes your Fortnite experience as we continue making improvements

The Middle East region is hosted by our cloud computing partners in Mumbai, India. We chose Mumbai in order to balance providing the best possible experience for players in the Middle East with preserving the experience of those who were previously utilizing the SEA region servers. While there are other datacenter options available, they don’t currently have the needed network paths to reach the majority of players in the region.

Why did it take so long?

In order to make this happen, we had to work with some of the world's largest cloud infrastructure companies to provide an awesome experience for players in the Middle East. Beyond servers, we also need low latency network connectivity to players. This has been a particular challenge in this part of the world given the number of countries, network providers, and varying levels of interconnection between them.

In order to solve the networking challenge, we worked with a new partner to build out an optimized network to carry game traffic back to our cloud infrastructure in places where the existing networks did not meet our performance targets. This network is deployed on hardware running in data centers across the region with network connectivity to major end user ISPs and more than a half dozen terrestrial and subsea international private leased network circuits back to India.

What’s next?

We have more network improvements in progress and we’ll continue to look for options to expand our network reach to improve the experience for players everywhere.

Keep your eyes peeled!

New Fortnite server arrives for players in the Middle East

Fortnite is already a global phenomenon, but its reach continues to grow.

Epic Games announced the opening of a new server in the Middle East, offering a better experience to players in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and India. The news came in a statement on the official Fortnite website, along with a detailed post from the company explaining what it meant for players in the region.

Epic Games expects ping improvements of up to 50% in the southern half of the region.

The new server was installed in order to address issues with high latency in the region and is designed to improve the play experience in the Arabian Peninsula. Situated in Mumbai, India, the server location should increase the quality of games for a sizable chunk of Fortnite’s global player base.

The move comes alongside a shutdown of the established Southeast Asia server due to Epic’s belief that there was not a sufficient player population to support two separate servers in the region. According to the statement, this could have an adverse impact for some.

Many players in the Middle East have been experiencing high ping rates since the game’s launch in 2017. Epic has been seeking to address this for an extended period of time, but has encountered troubles due to the inconsistent interconnection between ISPs throughout the region. The company detailed how they addressed this issue by working with new partners and building a new network for the region.

This is undoubtedly welcome news for players in the area, who have long been calling for an improved experience. In January, the hashtag “#FortniteMiddleEastServers” was shared over 2.3 million times as players shared their experiences, with some experiencing lag as high as 1,000 milliseconds. Players in Europe attempting to play on American servers will typically experience between 100 and 200 ms.

News of the Middle Eastern server launch was leaked on Twitter two days before the announcement by Fortnite data miners. He successfully identified not just the region the servers would be for, but the city as well. His information also included information on 14 other new servers that will be deployed in the future, though these have not yet been confirmed.

Middle East servers finally live in Fortnite Battle Royale

The new Sideways Anomalies introduced at the start of Fortnite Season 8 are ridiculously overpowered. Here’s why you need to be visiting these anomalies.

Fortnite Season 8 is off to a weird start. Where the past few seasons had themes that were easy to understand, Season 8 is a black swan.

With Cubed being the Season 8 title theme, a bunch of Kevin Cubes have popped up all over the map. Like in Chapter 1, these cubes roll around the map leaving destruction in their wake. But there’s even more to this season’s madness.

Epic Games also threw in the new Sideways biomes. These are zit-lit bubbles that appear on the map that are infested with dangerous creatures. However, the Sideways Anomalies are smaller biomes that are game-changing additions to Fortnite.

There are two ways players can enter The Sideways in Fortnite Season 8. The first and most popular is via The Sideways biome that appears on one of the POIs at the start of every match. These biomes do not disappear, and they are heavily populated by players and monsters.

However, The Sideways biomes are not as accessible or rewarding as the Sideways Anomalies. Sideways Anomalies appear as purple rift-like markers on the map, and there are three on the map at all times.

When approached, the rifts will expand and create a smaller Sideways biome. Cube Monsters will begin to spawn, and players will be able to spend a small amount of time inside the anomaly before it closes. Once the Sideways Anomaly closes, another one will appear on the map.

fortnite sideways biome

Aside from the larger Sideways biome, players tend to ignore the Fortnite Sideways Anomalies. However, players should visit every Sideways Anomaly they can. Here’s a list of reasons players should visit the Sideways Anomalies.

  • Siphon health from Cube Monster eliminations
  • Easily get max ammo from Cube Monsters
  • Easy way to get Mythic Sideways Weapons

Every time a player kills a Cube Monster, they will gain health and shield. And since the Cube Monsters are easy to kill, players can get full health and shield super quickly. As well, Cube Monsters drop a lot of ammo when eliminated.

Players can also get overpowered Mythic Sideways weapons after visiting 1 or 2 Sideways Anomalies. But what makes these so overpowered is the small number of players that visit them.

Yes, you can get all of these benefits from the large Sideways biomes, but it’s unlikely that you’ll encounter an opponent at Fortnite Sideways Anomalies. Having a biome all to yourself takes the edge off of getting geared up.

Are you a fan of the new Sideways biomes, and have you tried the Sideways Weapons yet? Let us know your thoughts on our FortniteINTEL Twitter page.
