The HP EliteBook G7 is a lightweight, slender inch powerhouse with a lovely FHD display. At $1,, it’s a bargain due to its speedy performance and ability to handle anything you throw at it. Whether you’re working from home, returning to the office, or traveling the world, the HP EliteBook will win you over. 

The EliteBook was released without much fanfare but its snappy performance, picturesque display, and well-distributed lightweight chassis make this a great buy. I’d snatch one up while it’s still flying under the radar.

Not only the HP EliteBook G5 has been redesigned - its chiclet keyboard has also been given an overhaul. The keys have a nice size at 16 x 15 mm (~ x in) and their matte surface offers enough grip for fast typing. The keyboard still has crisp feedback, which is accompanied by good travel, and it remains protected from drops of water. Unlike Dell or Lenovo, the keys of the HP EliteBook G5 are flat and do not have a conic shape. The arrow keys (up and down) are a little difficult to use and you are more likely to mistype due to their size.

Overall, we are pleased with the keyboard and the lettering is very easy to read. The device is also equipped with white backlighting that can be regulated in two levels. You can adjust the backlighting in the BIOS, by setting a timeout for the keyboard backlighting (5, 10, 30, 60 or seconds). If you do not like timers, you can deactivate the feature. Backlighting can be turned on and off with a key combination.
