Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if
You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be
separated from You. Amen.

The first step of marriage preparation is to contact the Parish. One of the priests will meet with you to discuss the steps that are involved. At your first meeting with the priest, he will be happy to reserve a wedding date for you. Generally speaking, you will meet with the priest about a half dozen times before the wedding. Additionally, the couple must participate in two programs offered by the Office of Family Life of the Diocese of Peoria. There are two offerings for Part One and two offerings for Part Two. You must choose one from each of the two parts. They will provide you will certificates of participation that you should give to the priest who meets with you. To be directed to the diocesan website for more information and to register for these programs, click here.

Welcome back dear parishioners!

We are now open under guidance from the Diocese. Please read the policies that have been put in place for our parish.

 Guidelines for Masses at
St. John de LaSalle Parish
beginning June 14,

The obligation to attend Sunday Mass is dispensed through the end of June

The public celebration of the Holy Mass resumes Monday, June 8, and moving forward.

A face mask should be worn at Mass.

Social distancing of six feet between individuals who do not share the same household is expected.

Please take a missal from the table at the church entrance and bring it home with you after Mass so you have it for next time.

The Congregation is asked not to sing at this time to reduce the spread of the virus.

Only baskets with long handles will be used for collections, but the Mass will continue because there is no procession with gifts.

There should be no physical contact at the “Our Father” or at the Sign of Peace (a simple bow with eye contact is sufficient).

Please bring your own hand sanitizer and use it before joining the Communion procession. The Communion procession should occur as usual but communicants should have a 6 ft distance between each other.

Holy Communion will be placed in the palm of your hand only. There will be no distribution of the Precious Blood to the laity.

The Priest will not greet you, dear parishioners, entering or leaving the Church, eliminating the temptations of touching or hugging.

All persons, as defined by the Health Department, as more vulnerable, such as 65+years of age, those with underlying health conditions, fever or flu-like symptoms are encouraged to stay at home; however, attendance is at their discretion.
A weekend Mass will be available every Sunday on our Facebook (

Whenever there is a public gathering nowadays, there is a risk for anyone to contract coronavirus, so use prudence and, if concerned or fearful, please follow Holy Mass on TV or on Facebook.
