How to turn off the backlight of the motherboard
You can no longer surprise the user with the backlight on the motherboard. My budget motherboard MSI B Gaming Plus MAX has it. Although when buying, I did not even count on the backlight. In principle, now I dont need it (at least until I replaced my old case).
This article will show you how to control the lighting on your MSI motherboard. Lets figure out how to turn off the backlight using my motherboard as an example. You can sync the RGB lighting of your graphics card, RAM, storage, case, keyboard, mouse and monitor.
MSI Mystic Light
The app is used to customize the lighting color and visual effects of both MSI devices and other brands that are compatible with the Mystic Light system. For example, my V-Color 16 GB (82) memory is detected, but the Asus Rog Strix RX 8 GB video card is not visible.
In the software, select MB (MSI B Gaming Plus MAX), specify the Disabled effect and click Apply . All supported devices are automatically displayed in the app. I also turn off the backlight of the RAM by selecting DRAM.
MSI Dragon Center
The application allows you to optimize the performance of your system (there is built-in monitoring). We are interested in the ability to control the backlight. With just a few taps, you can customize or turn off the backlighting of supported devices.
Under Home> Mystic Light, select the device you want, like your MB motherboard . In the LED Style list, set the value to Disabled and click Apply . Although the image of the RAM is not pulled up, it turns out to adjust its backlight.
Important! Depending on the model of the motherboard, you can turn off the backlight directly in the BIOS. Unfortunately, on my motherboard MSI B Gaming Plus MAX this is not possible. The likelihood that the ability to control the backlight will be added in the BIOS update is zero.
And the BIOS of the MSI MPG Z Gaming Edge motherboard has an EZ LED Control parameter. It can be used to enable or disable RGB lighting. Only special ones have this opportunity. What it depends on is difficult to predict. We cannot understand the logic of MSI.
MSI question . How can you install the backlight and not implement the ability to turn it off? You have a lot of software, but there is no sense in it. Do your employees get paid for useless cloning of proprietary software? Does the user need it?
You can turn off the lighting on my MSI motherboard using the Mystic Light or Dragon Center apps. There is no way to just drag one slider in BIOS if I dont need it. Let me remind you that I myself use a completely closed case without tempered glass.
Its like promoting proprietary software. Install a few more programs to control the backlight of the motherboard. Better yet, all MSI software. New motherboards have a physical button to quickly turn the backlight on and off.
It was working fine yesterday, up until I accidentally put my computer into sleep, then woke it up immediately to turn it off. A few hours later I come back to turn it on and the RGB on the motherboard and the case fans hooked up to it won't turn on.
I've tried everything I know of, which isn't much: I have multi-brand peripherals so I uninstalled all RGB software for all of them (Razer Synapse, ASUS Aura, iCue) I tried to turn off, reboot, then turn on the EZ RGB control in the BIOS. I've tried flipping off the power button off and pressing the power button on my PC. I even uninstalled Dragon Centre and reinstalled the new MSi program on the Windows store with a fresh installation of Mystic Light. Nothing.
The RGB on my Corsair RAM, ASUS GPU and AMD stock cooler still work though. The motherboard I'm using is the MSi B Carbon WIFI, and the case I'm using is the Cooler Master MasterBox TD (The fans for the case are still spinning despite the RGB not working.)

Can I Sync the RGB lightings of Ambient Devices such as Nanoleaf light panels and Philips Hue together with MSI device?
Currently the MSI Mystic Light x Nanoleaf Ambient link only syncs during gameplay, such as: ASSASSIN'S CREED: ODYSSEY DLC 2, so if the game is not in progress, these two devices do not sync. But, MSI is also working with other game developers; hopefully, we can release more games to work with MSI shortly.
Are there other ways to control Ambient Device via MSI Mystic Light if I’m not playing games?
Yes, MSI has created 9 exclusive preset lighting effects in the “Ambient Mode” tab of MSI Mystic Light, you can access on the default light effects without other additional set up.
Since those MSI exclusive effects are presetting, if you’d like to do customize set up on the Ambient Device, please check on the Ambient Device APP.
Why does the light on the Ambient Devices look like not sync during some effects of the game play?
Due to some different connection and hardware used, in some effects (just few of them) during game play, there is limitation on syncing all the different (brands) devices in the same time, but in order to provide great experience to all MSI users, our team is working towards on the improvement.
Are there any upcoming games to be supported in the future?
Yes, we are working on adding other big title games into the list, and will release to all of you soon.
Bios control msi rgb
Today I booted up my computer and none of the RGB is not working including the strip that is on the motherboard I do not recall doing anything that would cause this problem. The RGB strip out on the motherboard itself does not work and that tells me it's most likely a software problem unless of course, the motherboard itself is the issue.
So I went ahead and reinstalled dragon center thinking this would be an easy fix. I did this twice playing with the RGB settings looking to see if missed anything. When this did not work, I went into my Bios settings (MSI click bios 5) and flicked off the RGB control, and restarted. I did that again turning it on this time no luck there. I then tried to update my Bios and reset to defaults no luck there as well.
At this point, I can't think of anything else that would fix my problem and I could not find any similar issues on the internet so any help will be appreciated thx! My motherboard is MSI MPG X GAMING EDGE WIFI ATX AM4 Motherboard
