"It was a good company. I learned a lot and am grateful that I worked there. However, it seems that most of the employees are skipping their lunch breaks to complete their jobs, which might make complete sense from a business standpoint but working long periods of time on an empty stomach is not fun."
"Do not work here. The training is poor, hardly fitting since they try to sell mainly on their good name. The on target earnings are not reflective of what management realistically expects. They say they want around 12 sales a month, but in most areas reps simply don't get there. 7-8 is reasonable, even for working on Saturdays and for that you get about $28k per year. And that's if you stay one year. Their turnover rate is insane. Whoever you start with will likely not be there after a few months. No one seemed to like the job in my office. When I went to the national sales training quite a few people told me they were already looking for other jobs. I got stuck with a territory that simply was not viable to make a living, and this could happen to anyone. It takes them at least four months to redo territories if they don't work. But it seems they would rather let their employees quit than solve any problems. Some offices work, Phoenix is one, but they seem to be far and few between. If you put effort in you seem to get compensation back. Others do not. You would be competing against authorized dealers who can offer better deals than you, as well as internal sales people from ADT who can offer better sales than you. They only compensate around 11 cents a mile, so you end up losing money while doing the job. It is just bad. Look elsewhere, just about any job is better than this one."

Typical day included calling previous customers and trying to get them to purchase new security system service again.
I learned that it is a numbers game. To prospect with consistency and positivity.
Management was good. Often too busy for enough training for each sales rep. Often set unreachable goals for their teams.
Culture was friendly and fun and energetic. Team-oriented.
Hardest part of the job was generating my own leads after the company took away most of the leads. Had to self-generate my own leads instead of running the leads previously given by the company. Too time consuming. Also the compensation plan was changed for the worse 3 times. Made it harder to earn good money. Also lots of driving.
Most enjoyable part was providing security service for appreciative customers and being around the great employees who helped eachother when management was too busy.
Free lunches sometimes.
Too much driving, Sometimes deals sold were cancelled unfairly.

Very Poor Management

Commission-only job but you are expected to work all weekends, holidays, and nights. You must be available for 16 hours day/6 days a week and have to use PTO for a 2 hour MD appointment even when you're available the remainder of the day. If you don't want to receive appointments on Christmas or Thanksgiving, you must also use your PTO leaving you with none for an actual vacation (again, this is a commission-only job so they don't lose anything when you don't work, you just lose your time). They write you up for not going to unconfirmed appointments in dangerous areas after dark even after expressing how uncomfortable you are with that. Not a good place to work. New management is running off ALL of the top reps.
Do not care about their employees and only look out for the company's bottom line. No exaggeration.
