Newsroom

Secretary Blinken, in consultation with the Department of Homeland Security, has temporarily expanded the ability of consular officers to waive the in-person interview requirement for individuals applying for a nonimmigrant visa in the same classification.  Previously, only those applicants whose nonimmigrant visa expired within 12 months were eligible for an interview waiver.  The Secretary has temporarily extended the expiration period to 48 months.  This policy is in effect until December 31, 2021.  This change will allow consular officers to continue processing certain nonimmigrant visa applications while limiting the number of applicants who must appear at a consular section, thereby reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission to other applicants and consular staff.  Travelers are encouraged to review the website of the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for detailed information on what services are currently available as well as eligibility information and instructions on applying for a visa without an interview.

Are you eligible for a Drop Box appointment?

If you can answer “yes” to the below questions, you may qualify for an Interview Waiver. If eligible for the waiver, you must still fill out your DS-160 online and then schedule a Drop Box appointment at a Visa Application Center to drop off the required documentation. (The process varies by consular post, so please follow the directions provided to you during the scheduling process.)

Do I qualify for the interview waiver program (IWP) or a “drop box” appointment?

Individuals may be able to renew their visas without an interview if they are reapplying for the same visa class that they previously held. Typically, interviews can be waived for individuals who are renewing unexpired visas or visas that expired less than one year ago. A recent Department of State announcement expanded that time frame to visas that have expired within a 48-month period, effective until December 31, 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants (Same Visa Class)
(Except children under 14 years of age and applicants 80 years of age or older)

☐ I was previously issued a visa in the same visa classification
☐ My prior visa (in the same class) is still valid or expired within the last 48 months (temporary extension – typically 12 months)
☐ My most recent visa was issued in the same country
☐ I received my visa after January 1, 2008 and was 14 years old or older when I applied for that visa
☐ My prior visa is not annotated “Clearance Received” or “Department Authorization”
☐ My prior visa (in the same class) was issued on or after my 14th birthday
☐ My prior visa (in the same class) was not lost/stolen or cancelled
☐ I have no refusals for a visa in any class after my most recent visa issuance
☐ If yes, then the refusals need to be identified on the DS-160
☐ I have not been arrested or convicted of any crime
☐ I have not stayed in the U.S. longer than 6 months on a B-1/B-2 visa
☐ If applying for an F visa, I am continuing as a student at the same school for which my previous visa was issued
☐ If I am applying for a J visa, my current DS-2019 is issued by the same institution as the institution listed on my previous visa

Note: Blanket L1 visa applicants do not qualify for the Interview Waiver, but Blanket L2 spouses are eligible

If qualified, applicants only need to drop the required documents at the RPX Document Drop-off Location any business day between 10am and 3pm. Applicants do not need to come in person to drop off their documents. This process will take 14 business days to complete.

  4. I was 14 years of age or older at the time the previous visa was issued.
  5. I have all of my passports covering the entire period of time since I received the full-validity visa. (If your answer is yes, you are required to submit your current passport as well as the passport with the most recent U.S. visa. You may not use interview waiver if you lost your previous passport that had a valid or expired U.S. visa).
  6. I have not been refused a U.S. visa in the last twelve months. (NOTE: All previous visa refusals, even if later approved, must be disclosed on the DS-160 visa application.).
  7. I have never stayed in the U.S. longer than 6 months on a B1/B2 visa (even if the Department of Homeland Security approved the extension of stay).
  8. I have never been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime, even if subject of a pardon.

How to Apply

If you meet the above requirements, follow the steps below:

Step 1

Complete the non-immigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) form; please see this link for the guidelines

Step 2

Log in to our appointment system and create a profile. Once logged in, choose “Schedule Appointment”. As you go through the process you will answer the interview waiver questions which will evaluate your eligibility to renew your visa through interview waiver.

Step 3

After you answer the questions, you will be prompted to pay and enter the visa application (MRV) fee. Please see this link for more information on how to pay your MRV fee. If you are eligible to apply for a visa through interview waiver, you will be able to print out the “Interview Waiver Confirmation Letter”

Important Notes:

  1. The U.S Embassy in Jakarta and Consulate in Surabaya reserve the right to interview any applicant. If an interview is required, an Embassy or Consulate representative will contact the applicant.
  2. If you drop off your documents for renewal but are not eligible for the Interview Waiver, your application will be placed on hold and you will be asked to schedule a regular appointment. Please make sure you are eligible for the Interview Waiver based on the above criteria. You should submit your application well in advance of your travel plans,
  3. If additional information or document is needed, you will be informed by email or phone. Please make sure the e-mail address in your application is valid and please check your e-mail regularly after you drop your application.
  4. Children under 14 years of age whose parent(s) qualify for visa renewal through the interview waiver do not need to schedule a regular appointment (even if the child has never previously been issued a visa). The parent can simply pay the MRV fee and submit the completed application for each child under 14 at the same time they submit their own application. The parent must include the original birth certificate of each child, which will be returned along with the passport once the visa is issued. In addition, children under 14 years of age whose parent(s) have valid B1/B2 US visa (s) do not need to schedule a regular appointment (even if the child has previously been issued a visa). The parent must pay the MRV fee and submit the application, include the child’s original birth certificate, and submit original current and old passport of one parent containing valid B1/B2 US visa.
  5. All applicants must qualify on their own. Spouses, parents, or any other family member unable to meet the interview waiver criteria will not be eligible for interview waiver. Those applicants must schedule a regular appointment.

If qualified, applicants only need to pay the visa application fee, fill out the visa application form, print out a Drop-Box Confirmation Letter, and drop off documents at the RPX Document Drop-off Location any weekday between 10am and 3pm. Qualified applicants do not need to appear at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta or the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya for an interview.

It is important to know that your visa may still be valid if the passport is expired. You can travel to the United States with your old passport containing a valid visa and your new, valid passport.

Renew My Visa

On this page:

Overview

Repeat travelers to the United States may, under some circumstances, renew their visas without appearing at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate for an interview. Additionally, some governments allow their citizens to travel with a valid visa in an expired passport, provided the traveler also has a valid passport. If your government allows travel with a valid visa and a combination of an expired and valid visa, then the U.S. government will allow you to travel to the United States with your old passport containing a valid visa and your new, valid passport. Starting September 1, eligible applicantsmust schedule an appointment date in order to drop off their passport and visa application materials at one of our eleven locations.

Step 2

Register an account on this webpage. Follow the steps to schedule an interview. Answer the questions carefully.

Step 3

Pay the visa application fee. This webpage lists all of the visa fees associated with the most common nonimmigrant visa types. Instructions for how to pay your fees are available on this webpage.

If you qualify for interview waiver, you will be able to select the post that will process your renewal application, and the date on which you will submit your application. Once you have selected a date to drop off your application, you will receive a appointment confirmation page containing a document checklist. Print one copy of the appointment confirmation page. Drop off your passport along with the listed documents mentioned on the submission letter at one of the service centers designated on your letter on your scheduled drop-off date.

Note: Failure to submit the above documents as per criteria will delay the processing of your case.

Step 5

Applicants will receive a decision on their case within seven to ten business days of when their documents are submitted.  If additional information is needed to complete processing of your case, you will be informed by email. If your application is approved, your passport and visa will be delivered for pickup to your selected Document Collection center you specified when you scheduled your document drop-off. Details on passport delivery are available on this webpage.

The guys left and I returned to the room where my wife was lying. Seeing her, something extraordinary happened to me. She changed her posture and now lay with her arms and legs spread wide, her face buried in the pillow, but with open eyes, and she smiled with her mouth full. Of happiness, which seemed to burst into her.

I got a lovely view of her unraveled red genitals and ass.
