xFi Gateway blinking is a common issue faced by Xfinity users. What’s tricky about this issue is that there are numerous causes for it, and consequently, there are many solutions for them. 

If your xFi Gateway is blinking green, it means that it is having trouble connecting to the Internet.

You can solve this problem by disconnecting and reconnecting your devices, checking for loose cable connections, checking for power outages, etc. 

What Does the Blinking Green Light Mean?

xFi Gateway has an array of LEDs. Each of these LEDs shines different colors depending on the status of the Gateway. Some of them are:

  • Stable white light – your xFi Gateway is operational.

Open the app, log in with your Xfinity credentials, go to Connection Problems > Restart Gateway.

All of the above steps come under soft reset. If none of them works, you may have to power cycle your xFi Gateway.

To power cycle (or hard reset), unplug the Gateway from the power supply, or remove the power cord at the back of the Gateway for about 20-25 seconds. Then, plug back the cord while pressing the power button.  

Disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi with your devices

Another easy fix that anyone would go for in a no-internet situation is simply disconnecting your device from the xFi, and reconnecting it.

If multiple devices are connected, disconnect them all. Since this isn’t a problem where the Wi-Fi is disconnecting continuously, you don’t have to worry about not being able to reconnect to the Wi-Fi.

Make a direct connection
