Glenda Y. Bonner (Stanley) was born to John and Stella Stanley on December 18, 1948 in Hanford, CA at the Sacred Heart Hospital. Glenda was the first of four daughters to John and Stella. Glenda enjoyed monthly gatherings at friends houses for a game of Bunco as well as card games for quarters. She loved to take a trip to the casino from time to time. Mark Steven Nelson, 62, passed away Sep. 14, 2021 in Prescott, AZ. He was born Jan. 24, 1959 in Bellflower, CA to Ronald and Adeline Pimentel Nelson. He was raised on the family farm in Selma, CA and graduated from Selma High School in 1977. Mark proudly served in the US Army from 1979 to 1982 at Fort Hood, TX. He worked at Sun-Maid Growers in Kingsburg, CA for 40 years with the final 30 as an IAM union machinist. He retired in 2018 and moved to Chino Valley, AZ with his wife Alice.

Former Corcoran resident Betty J. Bynum died peacefully at her home in Visalia on Friday October 1, 2021. She was surrounded by family and her beloved little fur baby Oliver. Betty was born to Charlie and LueVica Adams on August 17, 1941 in Amagon, Arkansas. The family came to California by train when Betty was 2 years old. Betty began her nursing career at Corcoran District Hospital where for the majority of her career she was the supervising surgery nurse.

Susan Jensen, 75, passed away on September 18, 2021 at her home in Visalia, CA. She spent her last few days surrounded by loving family and friends. Susan was born in Kingsburg, CA to Faye and Chester Anderson on May 18, 1946. She attended high school in Kingsburg and married Donald Jensen of Easton, CA on February 26, 1965. She attended Fresno City College and graduated with her bachelors and masters degrees from Fresno State University. She taught English at various colleges and spent the majority of her teaching career at the College of the Sequoias. She was a strong advocate for higher education, whether it be a traditional college education or learning a skilled trade.

Cruz was born on May 3, 1937, to parents Jose and Santos Valdez in Hanford Ca. Cruz graduated from Hanford High School in 1956. In October he married his wife Jennie (Aguilar) Valdez of almost 65 years. Together they started their family in Hanford.

Yoshimi 'Matt' Matsuura

Matsuura, Yoshimi "Matt" born in Fowler, California on May 3, 1918, finally heeded the calling from his earlier deceased spouse of 70 years, Kay and after a wonderful 103 years of adventures on this earth, joined with her again on August 23, 2021. He and family were interned at Gila River during World War II. He voluntarily enlisted in the military as a Japanese language translator and engaged in post-war service in Japan. He settled in Minneapolis with his parents and siblings and with his keen, clever engineering mind, he eventually retired as Director of Manufacturing from Warner Manufacturing Company. He remained busier during his retirement years, volunteering and assisting anyone who could benefit from his jack-of-all-trades talents. He was an avid University of Minnesota Gopher sports fan, recognized by the school for being the longest season basketball ticket holder for over 55 years. He is survived by sons Wayne and Richard (Miwa) & grandchildren Andrew, Gregory, Noah and brother Taro (Masa) and sister Jane Hayano (George-deceased). To honor his wishes, no services are planned.
