Reggae group We Got releases music video

THE EIGHT-piece reggae collective We Got has released the official music video of its new single “Panahon.” Directed by Shai Advincula, the video’s story takes place during the pandemic, when a woman in isolation finds unexpected companionship in the unlikeliest of circumstances. Written by the band’s guitarist Mike Quebral and arranged by vocalist and guitarist Mack Dela Cruz, “Panahon” was recorded with the goal to produce a calm, soothing piece of music. The song is part of We Got’s debut EP Hiwaga, produced by Raymund Marasigan. Hiwaga is available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Philippines. Camila Cabello releases new single

THREE-time Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Camila Cabello has released a new single, “Don’t Go Yet.” The song was written by Cabello, Scott Harris, Ricky Reed, and Mike Sabath, produced by Sabath and Reed, and featuring live percussion by acclaimed Cuban drummer Pedrito Martinez. Alongside the new song, a video for the track has also been released. The song showcases the singer’s Mexican and Cuban roots, while retaining a pop sound with a sticky chorus. The new track will also appear on her upcoming third full-length album, Familia. POP-R&B singer Charlene Su has dropped her debut EP titled onlyfriends, with four songs. Cheekily referencing the popular, albeit raunchy online platform, OnlyFans, onlyfriends came about through collaboration among friends. The EP includes the R&B jam “bitter baby,” whose laid-back beats and tropical-sounding production drip with sensual confidence, and the earlier released tracks “iwas4u” and “ilikered.” The music video for “say it back” will be released on Aug. 25 together with a live- streamed performance of the EP. LOS ANGELES 15 June – The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles congratulates The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) Balitang America (BA) for its winning entry to the 49th Annual Northern California Area EMMY Awards, entitled “KEPT: Six Decades of Servitude” under the category Human Interest Program/Special Category on 06 June “Kept” won over two other entries submitted under said category.

“Kept” documents the life of Fedelina Lugasan, an year old Filipina who was rescued by the Federal Bureau of Immigration in early from the slave-like conditions she endured for more than six decades in the hands of a Southern California family. Nanay Fedelina won her case against her traffickers in January through the assistance of the Pilipino Workers Center (PWC) of Southern California and United States law enforcement. The Consulate General played a crucial role in helping her obtain a passport and in assisting the provision of a shelter as well as legal needs.

BA correspondent and “Kept” producer/writer/host Steve Angeles said in his acceptance speech during the livestream awards ceremony that he is relieved that Nanay Fedelina’s story had a happy ending. Mr. Angeles also expressed his gratitude to the community that supported and continued to check on and care for Nanay Fedelina, especially the Consulate General, PWC, owners and staff at Long Beach Care Center, as well as United States federal authorities.

Today, Nanay Fedelina has become an active anti-trafficking advocate herself by sharing her story during meetings and gatherings of other migrant advocates to inspire them in their fight against all forms of trafficking, as well as to urge other trafficking victims to come out into the open and receive justice for themselves.

The San Francisco/Northern California Area EMMY Awards are presented for outstanding achievements in television by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Balitang America is the franchise news program of ABS-CBN International's TFC.

Balitang America (News America) is a minute daily newscast with a nationwide scope, airing via satellite subscription on The Filipino Channel and its local affiliate station in the San Francisco Bay Area, KTSF. This makes Balitang America the first-ever Filipino American news program to be broadcast throughout North America. The Filipino Channel targets this newscast to air over its other nationwide station affiliates as well as worldwide, via satellite. Through its army of reporters and correspondents all over the United States, Balitang America will broadcast news that matters to every Filipino American. National headlines and issues of significance to the community will be delivered in a round-up style from all over the nation.

Since , the program uses English subtitles for the Tagalog soundbytes, similar to ABS-CBN's sister channel, ABS-CBN News Channel.

Community features, profiles, and special reports will also be an integral part of the show's lineup, giving Filipinos all over the United States a voice and face on television.

Community updates, events, and public service announcements will be available via Balitang America's very own community calendar, Pinoy Datebook, and postings called Pinoy Panawagan.
